Imphal, June 02 2011:
The Raengjaeng (Ngarian) village authority has deplored the alleged high-handedness of the State police commandos.
In a statement, chairman of the village authority K Rangjandun alleged that on May 30, a team of Imphal West district police commandos came to the village, and intimidated and harassed the innocent villagers in the name of maintaining law and order, thus creating a fear psychosis among women and children.
They even ransacked some of the houses and caused damages to the properties.
Raengjaeng (Ngarian) villagers are peace loving and innocent people and they do not want any kind of violence in their village, the chairman said and drew the attention of the authorities concerned for taking up necessary remedial measures.
