Imphal, September 01 2014: The All Manipur Village Defence Force (VDF) Welfare Association held a meeting today at Indian National Army Memorial Hall, Moirang, Bishnupur district and discussed on various initiatives for the welfare of the association.

Md Riyaz Khan, Association Secretary and L Deban, Association Vice-president attended the meeting as the Chief guest and president respectively.

Some of the points discussed during the meeting included a demand for salary increment; to maintain a service record; establish a separate Battalion for VDF and provide 13 months salary.

The meeting also talked about submitting a memorandum regarding the matter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 16 .

The meeting resolved that in case the State Government fails to fufill their demands within the month of september, the association will resort to vigorous agitation and the State Government will be held responsible for any unwanted incident.
