Jiribam, November 30 2016: A house at Sonapur village, approximately 6 km toward the southern side from the proper town of Jiribam- sub division, was burnt into cinders at around 1 pm today.

The house was owned by one Hasan Choudhary (39), s/o Moin Uddin Choudhary of Sonapur Part-I, Jiribam.

The fire reportedly killed a cow and damaged a Maruti 800 car.

About 450 kg of rubber sheets which were kept in stock at the cowshed were also reduced to ashes.

Rs 6-7 lakh worth properties were damaged by the fire, our correspondent reports.
