Imphal, June 30 2015 :
Following an assurance given by RIMS authority regarding their demands, RIMS Nurses Association has postponed its proposed mass casual leave stir till July 15 .
The decision to this effect was taken in a general body meeting of the association held today.
However, the nurses resolved to continue their protest by wearing black badge.
They said that they would launch the casual leave stir if the assurance of the RIMS authority is not translated into action within the given deadline.
The demands of the association include framing and implementation of a reservation policy, filling up of vacant posts and promotion to deserving senior nurses, framing of a seniority list of staff nurses and providing land for the construction of association's office.
It may be mentioned that nurses launched their stir by wearing black badge on June 19 .
The next day, association representatives and RIMS authority had a meeting.
After the two sides failed to bring any understanding in the meeting, the nurses decided to carry out a mass casual leave stir from July 1 .
