Imphal, July 30 2013: With regard to the issue of keeping census figure of the three sub-divisions of Senapati district invalid, Chief Minister O Ibobi convened a meeting today and decided to consult the Registrar General of India.

An official source informed that Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, RD Minister Francis Ngajokpa, the Chief Secretary, the Principal Secretary (Home), Census Director, Senapati DC and SDOs of Purul, Mao-Maram and Paomata were present at the meeting.

The meeting mooted a joint inspection of the areas where abnormal population growth rate was recorded by a joint team of RGI officials and State Government officials for a final decision on the issue.

As for the joint inspection schedule, RGI would fix it.

Notably, NPO has convened a public meeting on the matter at Senapati district headquarters on August 6 .
