Imphal, April 25 2013: The indefinite Chandel district bandh imposed by Chandel Naga Peoples' Organisation (CNPO) has been suspended today.

The decision to suspend the bandh was arrived at a special and high level emergency meeting of civil society organisations convened by CNPO today.

The meeting was attended by representatives of various civil society organisations, chiefs and NWUC.

The meeting further resolved to resume courses of agitation from midnight of May 5 if the Govt continues to neglect the demand raised by the CNPO.

It may be mentioned that the CNPO was imposing an indefinite Chandel district bandh from April 19 demanding the shifting of surrendered MDF cadres from 20 AR post located in the heart of the district headquarters.
