Prohibition at RIMS

Imphal, November 21 2012:
In a step towards reducing high incidence of cancer in the State, RIMS authority has prohibited use and sale of cigarettes and tobacco products on the hospital campus with immediate effect.
A statement issued by the RIMS authority today said that surprise raids would be conducted on the kiosks and shacks on the campus from time to time.
Those who are found selling cancer causing eatables including snuffs, chewing tobacco intoxicants and cigarettes, bidis etc would be summarily evicted from the campus.
At the same time, visitors and staff are also prohibited from smoking and chewing pan on the campus and inside the offices.
