Imphal, December 17 2024: There was panic in Koirengei after an empty case of parabomb was found in a field today.

The suspected 51 inch mortar shell was found by locals in a thick bush near Khuman Pokpi Laisang complex under Sekmai police station, Imphal West.

Notably, the location where the shell was found is about a kilometre away from Chief Minister N Biren Singh's Luwangshangbam residence.

Police and bomb experts cordoned off the area and conducted inspections.

On checking, it was found to be an empty case of a parabomb.
