Imphal, March 17 2018:
The JAC of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) has announced its decision to resume its cease work strike from March 22, owing to the failure of the authority concerned to take up any positive steps regarding the implementation of 7th Pay for the State Government employees.
A press release issued by the JAC stated that despite repeated appeals by the association to the authority concerned to ensure the announcement of 7th Pay for the Government employees during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the State, not even a single word in connection with the issue was said up during the PM's visit to Manipur University or at Luwangpokpa Multi Sports complex today.
It may be mentioned that the association held a general council meeting on February 25, where it was resolved that the JAC would resume its cease work strike from March 22 if the demands for the implementation of 7th Pay are not met.
The JAC had also submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Government on March 10 reiterating the stand of the JAC and demanding the authority concerned to pressure the PM to announce the implementation of 7th Pay during his visit to the State.
