Rs 31 crore sanctioned for honorarium

Imphal, November 14 2013: An amount of Rs 31 crore has been sanctioned for paying pending honorariums of Anganwadi workers and helpers.

This was stated by Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai during Children Day celebration at Bal Bhavan, Khuman Lampak today.

Mirabai remarked that Social Welfare Department is one department which is closely related with a man's life starting from one's birth till death.

Another Rs one crore is in the pipeline for paying pending honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers, she said.

The Minister stated that she would examine whether funds sanctioned for the ICDS Project are utilised in time and properly.

Appealing to all Anganwadi workers and helpers to discharge their duties sincerely, Mirabai said that she would check whether Anganwadi workers and helpers are discharging their duties diligently.
