Churachandpur, August 14 2021: Khuga Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a tree plantation drive along with Assam Rifles Ex Servicemen of Churachandpur district, Manipur on August 12 .

The drive was organised with an aim to promote 'Go Green Initiative' and spread awareness about climate change and global warming amongst the Ex Servicemen, said a statement of IGAR(S) .

As part of the initiative, the Ex Servicemen and troops also planted saplings of various types.

The troops were also educated about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological equilibrium.

During the event, Oxygen cylinders, face masks & hand sanitizers were also distributed to Ex Servicemen.
