Imphal, October 13 2012: The 19th Social Get Together cum Freshers' Meet of Monsang Students' Union, Imphal was celebrated at Diocessan Social Service Society (DSSS), Mantripukhri today.

The programme was graced by Ng Benithan, president of Sirti Upa Ruh (Monsang Tribe Union); Renie Wanglar, president of Sirti Sanuw Ruh as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively, said a statement.

Other dignitaries who attended the programme included Ts Phamdung; KP Monsang, DSP; Kh Rajesh, ASPM, NRHM and W Molali, Pastor of Monsang Fellowship, Imphal.

Meritorious students of the community were feted during the function.

The chief guest highlighted the importance of education and its impact in shaping the society while the guest of honour emphasised on the influence of IT on youth while also cautioning them against its negative impact.
