DESAM condemns RIMS authority for not compensating students

Imphal, September 13 2019: Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) on Friday appealed the authorities concerned of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Imphal to compensate students who are victims of the fire that occurred on April 17 at Nursing Hostel No 2, RIMS.

Condemning the authorities concerned for not disbursing the promised compensations that include minimum commodities- bed nets, mattresses, suitcases and financial aid of Rs 25,000 per student plus books till today, DESAM in a statement accused the RIMS authority concerned of 'irregularities' in the matter.

Around 68 students were affected by the fire and are still not given single assistance, alleged DESAM calling for immediate disbursement of the compensations promised.
