Imphal, April 12 2013 : A branch office of the State Bank of India was opened today at Mayang Imphal Bazar by Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar.

Including the Mayang Imphal branch, there are now 38 branch offices of SBI in the State.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr Kh Ratankumar stated that the new SBI branch would do away with the myriad problems faced by the people of Mayang Imphal and surrounding areas.

Payment of old age pension, extension of loan facilities to Self Help Groups and release of funds for MGNREGS would be much more easier now, he stated.

Informing that Mayai Lambi is being expanded up upgrading it to the level of a national highway, Dr Ratankumar sought public cooperation towards the same effort.

Mayang Imphal Municipal Council Chairperson Th Rajmohon was also present at the opening function.
