AR recovers drugs from Khudengthabi

Tengnoupal, September 11 2019: An Assam Rifles Battalion recovered contraband drugs worth Rs 47.25 lakh from Khudengthabi on September 8, said PRO of Assam Rifles in a statement.

Based on specific input regarding smuggling of drugs, a joint team from Assam Rifles and Moreh police stopped two motorcycle borne individuals travelling from Moreh to Imphal.

On thorough frisking and checking of the vehicle, the joint team recovered 150 packages containing 15,750 WY tablets worth approximately Rs 47.25 lakh.

The drugs were found hidden inside the tool box of the motorcycle and were being transported to Pallel.

The arrested individuals along with the seized items were handed over to Moreh police for further investigation.
