Jiribam, November 10 2012: Dissenting the appointment of an LDC and a Chowkidar for Ward Development Committee of Jiribam Municipal Council, a meeting of Ward No 5 Development Committee was convened today by E Mani Singh.

The meeting strongly dissented the manner in which undeserving candidates for the post of LDC and Chowkidar were selected by the selection committee.

The meeting was attended by members of Jiri MC, N Ibomcha, M Meghabharna and Ch Nandinibala Devi.

It also resolved to appeal the authority to consider appointment of more deserving candidates to the post.

In case the appeal is not accepted, the members present resolved to picket the Municipal office.

Further, the members agreed to resign from membership of the Municipal Council if the matter is not resolved positively by November 30 .
