Imphal, August 10, 2012: Athokpam Nandababu alias Chinglensana (19) s/o Nando of Chingnungkhok Mamang Leikai who was arrested by a team of Iribung police station under the command of OC-in-charge Inspector T Inaobi on August 7 from Langdum Lamkhai waiting shed was a deserter who fled away from PLA's 252 Mobile Battalion on March 23 this year.

Likewise, Okram Piba alias Sanatomba Meitei (22) s/o O Ibomcha of Keibi Heikak Mapan Awang Leikai who was reportedly arrested by a team of 15th AR during search operation at Salungpham on August 8 was also a deserter who ran away from his place of duty on June 8 last year.

As for Lairenjam Basan (47) s/o L Babudhon of Thangmeiband Leirenjam Leikai who was arrested by a team of Imphal West commandos from near Konjeng Leikai YDO ground on August 6, RPF/PLA has no connection with the said individual, the outfit clarified in a press release issued by its Department of Publicity Chief Taohangsu Heiremcha.
