Jiribam, November 08 2012: Retaining walls along the bank of Jiri River collapsed thanks to substandard construction work.

An attempt to contact officials of the concerned department in the subdivision drew blank as no officials were available in the subdivision.

Agriculture land owners near the Jiri River bank were filled with panic as the river water continously slidded patches of land in the absence of quality retaining walls.
