KSO-IB supports contract teachers' proposed stir

Imphal, April 07 2015 : Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Island Block (IB), Sardar Hills, Manipur has extended support to the proposed agitation to be launched from April 9 by the JAC-All Manipur Hill Districts Contract Basis teachers' Association, 2006 batch if the State Government fails to meet the teachers' demand for regularisation of service.

KSO-IB in a press release issued by General Secretary Haopu Khongsai said the State Government should not adopt the policy of "use and throw" towards the teachers who had been suffering as a result of non-regularisation of service despite rendering "valuable service" for the past many years.

KSO-IB also reiterated that there has been a shortage of school teachers in the hill districts despite the enforcement of the RTE Act, 2009 in the State.
