MACR urges for ex gratia

Imphal, July 05 2014 : The Manipur Alliance for Child Rights (MACR) has urged the State Govt to provide ex gratia to the bereaved family of late mater Leishangthem Sushil (8), a student of Ever Green Flowers School, Thoubal Ningombam who died in a road mishap and also financial relief to all the 22 injured students and van drivers of the school who met tragic accident on July 3, 2014, conveyed it in a press release.

In the light of the accident, the press release deplored the concerned department of the State Govt and also Board and Council for not complying with the recommendations of Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) in regard to setting up a comprehensive School Van and Bus Transport Policy thus leaving the fate of the school going children at high risk, it said.
