Imphal, November 04 2015: Haraorou Tangkham gram Panchayat Block Development officer, panchayat secretary, pradhan and ward members have been charged with misappropriation of MGNREGs funds by the locals.

Funds of ten locals who did not enrolled for the MGNREGA scheme were reportedly forged and misappropriated by BDOs, pradhan and other without their knowledge, one Angom Naobi Devi told media today.

The gram panchayat has had record of fund misappropriation from over 165 people before, the Naobi alleged.

Demanding the issue of valid job cards for the ten affected people, Naobi further urged the authorities concerned to investigate the matter.
