Imphal, July 30 2015: All Manipur Road Transport Drivers' and Motor Workers' Union has urged the Government to repair the Barak bridge which has become bent recently.

In a statement, the union said that construction of the bridge was completed last year.

However, the bridge had become bent on July 26 last, the statement.

Due to this defect, BRO has suddenly prohibited plying of loaded trucks whose weight is more than 24 tonnes over the bridge although BRO had said earlier that even 40-tonne trucks can cross the bridge.

In this regard, the union urged BJP to look into the matter and take action against BRO.
