Imphal, August 27 2022: Former Revenue Minister Thounao-jam Bira passed away today at around 5 am at the age of 91 .

Thounaojam Bira, who is the elder brother of former Union MoS for YAS Th Chaoba, was born in 1931 at Utlou Mayai Leikai.

Before joining politics, he served as Director in the Department of Education.

Late Thounaojam Bira had started his political career in 2000 as Revenue Minister under Chief Minister Wahengbam Nipamacha by winning the election on Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) ticket from Nambol AC .

During his lifetime, he actively participated in welfare activities in and around Nambol AC and the State at large.
