Imphal, November 25 2018: Assam Rifles organised a meeting with Chairman and members of village authority from the villages Machi, Lamlong Khullen and Nungtak of the Machi Sub Division, Tengnoupal District at Machi Company Operating Base (COB) of Chandel Battalion, HQ 26 Sector Assam Rifles, IGAR (South) on 23 and 25 November 2018 .

The meeting was attended by seven members from Machi headed by Mr..DRouwaithang, Chairman, six members from Lamlong Khullen headed by Mr..D.KModest, Chairman and three members of youth committee from Nungtak headed by Mr.Lethang Haokip of village authority.

The agenda of the meeting was to take the requirements of villagers pertaining to the Christmas celebrations which is commemorated with the support of Assam Rifles in villages of Machi Sub Division, making the village authorities aware regarding ongoing campaign of Assam Rifles for recruitment under sports quota for potential sportsman from the villages and distribute solar lamps to the Lamlong Khullen as per their earlier request of 10 Solar Lamps.

Villagers also submitted their request for a water tank in Lamlong Khullen and sports equipment for the Nungtak Village.

The meeting was followed by interaction over refreshments be for the members of village authorities.

Village authorities expressed their gratitude for the continuous support of Assam Rifles in upliftment of the villages and empowering youth.
