Imphal, July 25 2014 :
The North East Dialogue Forum strongly condemns the brutal killing of Akha Salouni in Delhi on late night of July 20 last.
The racially discriminatory constant episode of hate crimes perpetrated against the people of North East in Delhi and other cities of India are the wake calls for us to unite and work towards eternal eradication of such barbarous acts, a press release said.
The July 20 incident was not the first and the Forum feels that it will not be the last also but such racial discrimination and hate crimes will increase in the future.
We also do not expect justice will be delivered this time too as has not been in the past.
Our hope and future in Indian cities especially Delhi seems to be very grim.
Therefore, we strongly recommend our fellow North Easterners who are studying in Delhi and other Indian cities to return to our region and begin to work collectively for our future generation and development, it said.
Indeed, we are very much saddened by the fateful incident and we share our sorrows and despairs with the family members, relatives and well wishers of late Akha Salouni, it added.
