ESM rallies held

Imphal, June 25 2016 :
Red Shield Division organised Ex-Service-
men (ESM) rallies at Khuga and N Khunou today.
According to a statement issued by the PIB (DW), the rally
at Khuga was organized by Khuga battalion of Churachandpur
Assam Rifles Sector under the aegis of Red Shield Division.
The rally was inaugurated by the District Welfare Officer,
Brigadier Ajay Kumar, Commander Churachandpur Assam
Rifles Sector in the presence of Lunminthang Haokip, DC,
Churachandpur, and was attended by about 300 ex-service-
men, war widows, veer naris and their dependants form
various parts of Churachandpur district.
In order to help the
veterans and their families, stalls for Suvigya cell (to resolve
pension related issues), free medical checkup and canteen
facilities were also established.
The event also showcased
Indian Army band display and the beautiful Punjabi culture in
the form of Bhangra, displayed by troops of Khuga Battalion.
N Khunou Battalion of Loktak Brigade organised the ESM
at N Khunou.
The rally addressed the problems of the ex-
servicemen of the area and also acquainted them with the
various existing and upcoming policies of the Ministry of
Defence.
Facility of 'Suvigya Cell', medical treatment and
canteen were also established at the rally for the welfare of the
ex-servicemen, it added.
