Jiribam, January 25 2023: Commando Unit, Jiribam arrested two persons along with two soap cases of heroin powder from Lakhimpur, Jiribam along NH 37 today.

The two arrested individuals have been identified as Sairem Basanta Singh (39) alias Bomcha alias Angamba, s/o (L) S Gopimacha Singh of Lakhipur Ward No 8 and Moirangthem Kunjamohon Singh (41) alias Roopesh s/o M Iboyaima Singh of Dibong Khunou, Jiribam.

The recovered heroin powder weighed around 28.40 grams.

The arrested persons were handed over to Jiribam Police Station along with the seized articles for further necessary action.

It is to be noted that the State has been launching intensified drive against drug and destroying large tracts of poppy plantations.
