Imphal, October 22 2012: Somrei Village Authority has strongly condemned the killing of SP Diamond (32) s/o SP Risen of Somrei village in Ukhrul district after being kidnapped by unidentified persons on September 17 last.

According to a statement issued by Headman of Somrei Village Alungpam Shinglai, ralatives and villagers of Somrei went on a manhunt for several days.

After several inquiries on his whereabouts, the villagers got a clue.

When they went to the place, only the mortal remains of SP Diamond was found inside a deep jungle on October 21 .

Condemning the act of killing Diamond, the VA statement demanded clarification from the concerned to come out in public over the killing.

The VA also appealed the authority concerned to look into the matter and book the culprits immediately.
