Imphal, June 21 2011: The Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM), in its executive body meeting held on June 16 at Kaiphundai, resolved that not an inch of Zeliangrong areas including Tamenglong district should be included in the proposed Jiribam district.

The ZSUM would oppose tooth and nail if the State Government takes up the matter of upgrading Jiribam sub-division into a full-fledged district without considering its resolution, the student body conveyed in a press release.

Saying that it has no objection to conversion of Jiribam as such into a full fledged district, the ZSUM urged upon authorities concerned to officially demarcate the boundary between Jiribam sub-division and Tamenglong district.
