Choithar village celebrates "Luira Phanit"

Ukhrul, February 16 2022: The traditional agrarian annual seed sowing festival of Choithar village was celebrated under the theme 'Iwui Ngashan, Iwui Lan' (My Culture, My Asset) .

Michael Shaiza, BJP Manipur State co-incharge (Political Programmes & Meetings) attended the inaugural ceremony of "Luira Phanit" held at Choithar village ground.

Shaiza, who is also the president of Ukhrul based NGO Ecological Rehabilitation Association (ERA) also hoisted the festival flag and inaugurated a sporting event yesterday.

Cultural display and folk songs & dance competition were the highlights of the celebration.

Manipur's famous female artiste, Alvina Gonson will also attend the festival as a special guest.
