Imphal, March 14 2016: The 20th Manipur University Festival (MUFEST) kick-started today at the university's sports complex under the aegis of Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU).

Works and Transport Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar, MUSU president Ch Manglemton and MU School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences Dean Prof M Dhaneshwar attended the opening function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

The six-day festival will hold games and sports competitions as well as literary and cultural events.

The festival opened with a torch rally from Kangla fort to MU campus followed by a march-past competition where salutes given by different contingents were received by Dr Ratankumar.
