Imphal, August 11 2015 : The Supreme Court of India heard the plea filed by former Health Director, Dr Th Suresh to repeal the Armed Forces Special Powers Act from Manipur yesterday at Court number 9 of the apex Court.

Senior Advocate Jayant Bhushan appeared for Dr Th Suresh along with Ashok Kumar and others.

During the hearing, Jayant Bhushan argued that since the Government has not filed any counter affidavit, the prayer to lift the said Army Act from Manipur be accepted.

On this, the Court asked the Government Advocate to file the same in the next hearing which has been fixed on October 5 .

Dr Suresh informed The Sangai Express that Jayant Bhushan refused to charge any fees as the petition has been filed in the interest of Manipur.
