Imphal, January 08 2025: Rural Development & PR Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has paid homage to Maharaja Gambhir Singh on the occasion of his 191st death anniversary.

In a press release, he urged people to recall the brave role played by the Maharaja during the Seven Years Devastation of Manipur wherein he defeated the Burmese force by forming the Manipur Levy and driving out the Burmese invaders from the soil of Manipur.

Stating that Maharaja Gambhir Singh restored the sovereignty of Manipur, he urged people to follow the path and legacy of the brave king and pledge to work together in building a strong, peaceful and vibrant Manipur.
