Imphal, August 07 2015 : Army Commander of Eastern Command Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi accompanied by GOC 3 Corps, Lt Gen Bipin Rawat visited Leimakhong Garrison today after taking over as the Army Commander, Eastern Command, said PIB (Defence Wing) in a statement.

Praveen Bakshi was briefed on the prevailing security situation.

This was followed by interactions with the officers and commanders of the formation, added PIB.

The Army Commander also reviewed the security environment and operations being carried out in the State to combat militancy and expressed satisfaction and complimented all ranks of the Division.

He also directed all ranks to ensure people friendly operations and emphasised on the need for highest standards of military ethos in Manipur.
