Imphal, October 04 2015: 21 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) has been helping people in crossing Manipur river after the foot suspension bridge at Singeu was washed away by flood waters in July this year.

Boat Assault Universal Type (BAUT) and improvised boats are being utilized for ferrying the villagers, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .

This facility is the only lifeline to ferry school children, womenfolk, poor farmers, Government servants and rations on daily basis.

Effort is on by the unit to get the bridge repaired by DC Churachandpur.
