Imphal, August 29 2015 :
Condemning the Centre's failure to reveal the details of the Naga Peace Accord to the people, All Manipur Minorities Students' Union (AMMSU) has announced to boycott BJP Manipur State Unit from Saturday onwards.
A press release signed by AMMSU president Syed Nawas Khan said that failure to reveal the contents of the peace accord till now by the Centre shows that people of the Northeast are not important to the Government of India.
The release asked the reason behind the denial of any knowledge on the accord by the State BJP president Th Chaoba who was in New Delhi at that time.
It said the exclusion of Governments of Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh while signing of the peace accord indicates there is a political secrecy.
Signing of the peace accord that took place at a time when there was widespread ILPS movement in Manipur shows that the Government of India is exploiting the people of Northeast, alleged the press release.
The issue on ILPS is now two months old, but the Centre is concentrating on developmental projects in the name of freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu in Nagaland, added the press release.
