Imphal, December 01 2015: Langthabal Sporting Club and locals have banned digging and quarrying at Heibok Ching.

Locals came across a JCB and three trucks engaged in excavation today around 7.30 am, according to LSC Kh Tiken.

They were immediately stopped by the locals and club members.

Locals and the Club have been making efforts to protect and preserve the fast degrading environment of the area by planting tree saplings.

The local club urged the authority concerned to look into the matter and do the needful.
