MCDA seeks assistance

Manipur Chemists & Druggists Association (MCDA) has sought assistance in the form of monetary or medicine from the concerned authorities and chemist fraternity to mitigate the loss incurred by the owners of eight pharmacy shops in front of Yairipok Community Health Centre which were razed to the ground in a raging fire on January 26 night.
In a press note, the association said life saving drugs and medical equipments worth Rs 60 lakhs were destroyed in the fire and subsequently people of Yairipok have been facing difficulties in procuring medicines.
The association also appealed the concerned authority to prepare registration certificate of the pharmacies at the earliest so that it could again open the shops and serve the public.
