Highway Truck Owners Welfare Organization (HITOWO) held a press meet at its head office in Kwakeithel bazaar Makha near Police Out Post on Tuesday regarding road safety measures.
Speaking to media persons, Konthoujam Brojendro, Secretary and Publicity of HITOWO said that two teenagers riding a Honda Pleasure met with an accident at 8:30 pm on Monday at Kwakeithel Bazaar Makha near the Police out Post.
The victims are Tonang (18) from Tamei who got injured on the forehead and Akam (18) from Tamei on the head.
They were admitted to RIMS hospital and later shifted to Raj Medicity.
It was stated that the two boys were coming from the southern side in the scooter which rammed on a stationary D I truck near the road which is now under construction.
He urged the contractor concerned and PWD to take up safety measures by displaying a signboard at least to indicate the road is under repair.
