Imphal, March 04 2016 : Coming out strongly against the statement of Kuki Reforma- tion Forum (KReF) and ADC Member of Chandel, Ch Chanthoi, Aimol Tribe Union (ATU) has stated that the state- ment is false and misleading. Countering the statement of KReF and ADC Member which stated that the Aimol tribes are not 100 per cent Naga in terms of historical background, culture, tradition and language, the union said Aimols are purely Nagas with their own unique identity and historical facts. Aimol Tribe union vice president Kh Neikhup Aimol, in a statement said the tribe which was recognized in 1958 by the Government of India was officially accepted as a Naga tribe with its own cultural and traditional practices and records.
