CSD concerned over climate change

Imphal, June 30 2015 :
Centre for Social Development, Imphal has urged the state govt.to implement the Manipur State action plan on climate change with people friendly and eco friendly system.
Soraisam Babycha, Project Manager, CSD Imphal at a press meet in Manipur Press Club on Tuesday stated that Indian Govt.in 2008 passed National Action Plan on Climate Change with the objective of protecting the poor and vulnerable sections of the society through inclusive and sustainable development strategy.
Manipur Govt.in return also passed Manipur State Action Plan on Climate Change in 2013 with the objective to address the existing as well as future challenges of climate change and to take action to reduce the associated risk and vulnerabilities.
Manipur has been experiencing the impact of climate change in different forms of flood and drought since the govt.unfortunately failed to implement all the missions under the Manipur State Action Plan on Climate Change.
CSD has further appealed to the govt.to make a white paper or expedite planning for implementation of MSAPCC and publish in public domain.
