SI pulled up for molesting woman

Imphal, July 25 2014 : In a case of crime against woman involving police personnel, a man who was recently recruited as a Sub-Inspector was pulled up for molesting a woman while she was returning home after buying vegetables at Patsoi Part IV, Imphal West on July 23 .

The accused has been identified as Mayengbam Romen (31) s/o M Kulla of Patsoi Part IV.

Reports said the woman was returning home after buying vegetables.

When she reached the place where Romen was standing, he suddenly grabbed.

Perturbed by the indecent act, the woman slapped the man and alerted nearby locals.

However, the man managed to flee.

Later, the accused was arrested by Patsoi police from his house on night of the same day following lodging of a complaint.
