Imphal, April 16 2015 : Communist Party of India (CPI) has condemned the State Government and Social Welfare's irresponsibility and insensitivity in Old Age Pension distribution procedure, which has led to the death of Irengbam Purnimashi (70) of Ningom Leirak.

CPI State Secretary, Dr M Nara in a press release questioned the reason for harassing the old pensioners from early morning in the scorching sun till late night when accounts were opened for dispatching the pension amount.

Further, the party demands a channelized and timely distribution of Old Age Pension in future and adequate compensation for the death of (L) Purnimashi.
