Akaba remembered on his 69th birth anniv

The 69th birth anniversary of Chingsubam Akaba was observed jointly by the editorial team of PANDAM, Luchingpurel Chingsubam Akaba Ningsing Lup and Luwang Printers at Wahengbam Leikai here today.
The anniversary was attended by Commerce and Industries Minister K Govindas as Chief Guest and MLA of Heingang Assembly Constituency N Biren as President while MLA RK Anand, MLA K Ranjit, ex-Minister RV Mingthing and Director of DIPR W Rajen attended as Guests of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Govindas recalled the contributions made by Chingsubam Akaba in reviving the Meetei Mayek script and making it known to the world.
He enjoined that everyone must acknowledge Akaba's contributions and render utmost support to popularize the Meetei Mayek.
A daily newspaper "PANDAM" which was started by Akaba as the editor was also re-launched during the occasion.
