Imphal, July 28 2014 : 12 BIHAR of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a "Water Purification drive" at Changangei village in Imphal west on 27 Jul 2014.The troops of 12 BIHAR assisted the civil population in cleaning and purification of water pond at Changangei village.

The locals of Changangei village were facing hardship due to acute shortage of portable water.

Around 100 locals and Army personnel worked in conjunction throughout the day to achieve the purpose.

For sedimentation and preservation of water large quantity of lime was also provided by the Army.

Thorough cleaning of the pond will solve the shortage of water for the locals of the Changangei village, PRO IGAR (S) said, adding that the event was well received by the local population and civil administration.
