Imphal, August 26 2015:
Remote villagers in Chandel district continued to seek immediate Government help after their lands and properties were destroyed by the recent flood and landslides caused by incessant rains.
In a statement, TM Dingpi Village Authority Chief Onjamang Touthang appealed to the responsible authorities to take up immediate measures and mitigate the plight of the villagers.
He claimed that the village road connecting TM Dingpi and Joupi and water supply schemes have remained cut off and about 300 acres of Jhumnland and standing crops were also washed away by the landslides, he added.
