2 water tanker drivers injured

Imphal, August 20 2015 : Two water tanker drivers were injured, one of them seriously, after some unknown persons assaulted them at Khurai Sajor Leikai in Imphal East on Wednesday night at around 9:40 .

The drivers have been identified as Thangjam Boinao Meetei (25) s/o Boyai Meetei of Lamlai Makha Leikai and Mayanglambam Basan (22) s/o M Manglemjao of Khurai Thangjam Leikai.

Boinao who was seriously injured in the incident has been admitted in JNIMS, Imphal for treatment.

Meanwhile, All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union has condemned the incident and said that apart from beating the two drivers, the unknown assailants also broke the windshields and lights of the vehicles.
