Illegal tobacco dealers held

Troops of 20 Assam Rifles under HQ IGAR (S) nabbed two illegal tobacco dealers at Bongyang in Chandel district on Friday.
According to a reliable source, while a team of 20 Assam Rifles was conducting a routine checking in the Bongyang area, a Maruti Van heading towards Moreh was intercepted and recovered 6,240 packages of Dilbagh Talab, 3,240 packages of Bengali Spit Tobacco, 500 packages of Rajni Gandha and 200 packages of Tulsi Royal Zarda.
The apprehendees were identified as one Huidrom Ingocha (29) of Uyal village, Thoubal district and Khongombi (45), wife of Ghanshyayam of Tentha village, Thoubal.
The individuals along with their items have been handed over to the Food Safety Officer, Chandel.
