Chandel, September 04 2014: Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) has contended that Kuraopokpi village where the Department of Commerce and Industries, Govt of Manipur laid the foundation stone for setting up of a District Industrial Estate today is not under Thoubal but under Chandel district.

The contention of CNPO has come following the department's printed programme list for the function in which Kuraopokpi is said to be under Thoubal district.

Citing police jurisdiction Order No.9/12(25)/88-H dated 11/1/1994, CNPO expressed unhappiness over the attitude of the government and said though developmental works are welcome in the district, the action of Govt such as repositioning of Kuraopokpi village in Thoubal District is not acceptable.
