Imphal, August 04 2015: Sky Hospital, Imphal has again become the first hospital in the state to perform Primary Coronary Angioplasty, also known as Primary PCI, to treat patients with heart attack.

W Sunil (53) s/o of W Kunjeshwor of Uripok Panchai Maning, Imphal suffered from a massive heart attack with 100% obstruction of a coronary artery supplying the heart muscle.

He was lastly brought to Emergency Department of Sky Hospital, RIMS Road where he underwent the Primary PCI on August 1 last to open up the obstructed coronary artery to save his heart muscle and his life, said Chairman and Chief Cardiologist of Sky Hospital Dr L Shyamkishore.

The Managing Director added that the successful coronary angioplasty with stent, the normal blood flow to the heart was restored thereby regenerating the dying heart muscle.
